RULES

    • Activity challenge & target group/s will be announced each month for 6 months
    • Schools will have 2 weeks to practice/record best times/distance etc
    • Practice can be supervised in the playground or if relevant, during curriculum time depending on the activity
    • A record of results can be ongoing or you may choose to hold a special ‘competition’ close to the closing date – whichever suits those involved
    • Please allow pupils/leaders to take some responsibility in the organisation of these activities eg timing, counting, helping with practises etc
    • Names of all leaders should be submitted alongside your entry each month - see entry form.  Each school is expected to submit a final nomination for the title of 'School Challenge Leader of the Year Award' in June
    • All pupils in the target year group should be encouraged to take part if possible
    • As many scores as possible should be entered into the competition by email or fax to me before the deadline ie midnight on the second Friday
    • On each occasion, results will be released on the following Tuesday morning and certificates/stickers awarded to the individual & overall winners
    • The top performers will receive points for the school eg. out of the total entry, the first 10 boys & top 10 girls will receive placings amongst all other schools and points awarded accordingly.  This will ensure fairness regardless of number of pupils put forward from each school. Should a school enter less than the minimum number, they will forfeit these points
    • To identify the winning school for each challenge, all individual points will be added together
    • In the case of a draw, this will be considered a win for all schools/individuals concerned

School place points will be allocated following each of the challenges eg 1st place = 7 points, 2nd place = 6 points etc.  Following the final challenge in June, the total school points will identify the overall winners of the 2008

In addition to this, a % tally will be kept after entries have been submitted for each of the challenges.  The school with the highest overall % of entries will be awarded a special framed certificate so .... get those entries in!.
